Wear a Hat Day

I am Derek Thomas and I am honoured to be the Conservative candidate for the 2015 General Election in the St. Ives Constituency also known as West Cornwall and The Isles of Scilly.
I am inviting you to take part in the Brain Tumour Research’s National Campaign ‘Wear a Hat Day’ on Friday 27th March, and help raise awareness and money for Brain Tumour Research.
Brain Tumours are the biggest cancer killer in children and adults under 40.  Sadly, research into understanding and treating brain tumours receives just 1% of the national cancer research spending in the UK.
As part of a national day of campaigning for Brain Tumour Research, High Street shops, including Warrens Bakery stores, will be taking part in raising funds for this important research.
I attended the launch of the new Brain Tumour Research Centre at Plymouth University last Autumn and learned how relatively little is known about brain tumours yet for someone who is diagnosed with a tumour the effect is devastating. I am taking part in ‘Wear a Hat Day’ to raise money for research and hopefully, demonstrate support for patients and their families.’
My team and I hope to raise £2,500 on Friday 27th.  £2,500 is the amount it cost to run the Plymouth Brain Tumour Research Centre for one day.
Wear a hat to show your support for this important research. You can donate money in participating high street stores across West Cornwall, including:
Gillians Larder
Lillies
Roy Doble Jewellers
Pictures and Things Gallery
Jane’s Fish and Chips
A New U
Revive
Head Rush
