Last week MPs debated the proposed Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership.
An area of concern has been the apparent secret nature of the negotiations so I was grateful for the opportunity to debate TTIP last week. Furthermore, MPs have been assured that we will get a further opportunity to debate the proposals and will have a vote on Britain’s membership of this partnership.
The following is a link to a letter received last Friday by the Chair of the Health Select Committee from the European Commission regarding the protection of public services including the NHS, which has been raised as a key concern about the TTIP proposals.
I hope you find it of interest and that it goes some way to reassure you about the impact of the proposals on the UK.
