Free coffee and cake as well as advice on how to make big savings on your winter fuel bills and stay healthy this winter are being offered by West Cornwall MP Derek Thomas.
Mr Thomas will be hosting a Health and Wellbeing event at the Pendeen Centre next Friday, 3rd November which is designed to make sure that people have everything they need for a warm and comfortable winter.
Around a dozen organisations including Cornwall Fire, Rescue and Community Safety, the Cornwall Community Rural Charity, South West Water, the Royal Voluntary Service and Everyone Can Move will be attending and giving advice on how people can cut fuel bills, eat well and stay safe and warm during the colder months.
Everyone Can Move is a fitness and wellbeing programme provided by the iCareiMove team which works to tackle inactivity in the older population, with safe, effective and fun wellness and exercise sessions delivered by experienced professionals.
Mr Thomas said: “Not only will you get a delicious slice of home-made cake and a cup of coffee, there’s the chance to enjoy a great exercise class, make new friends while getting the very best advice on how to keep your fuel bills under control this winter and other tips on how to stay warm and healthy.”
