Ebola – the UK response

The Science and Technology Select Committee launched has launched an enquiry looking at the response of the UK to the West Africa Ebola Epidemic and how prepared we are to respond effectively to future outbreaks.
A Strategic Advisory Group of Experts (SAGE) oversaw the World Health Organisation’s response to Ebola.
As I have mentioned before RNAS Culdrose and, in particular 820 a Naval Air Squadron, played an important role in our fight against Ebola along side RFA Argus. Whilst Ebola nurse Pauline Cafferkey’s condition ‘has improved’ her case is a reminder that we must be constantly prepared and equipped to react quickly to the current threat and possible future outbreaks wherever they may occur.
