Derek Thomas’ Plan for West Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly
Derek Thomas, MP for the St Ives Constituency, launched his plan for West Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly on April 10th 2015.
The document, titled ‘A Plan to Deliver’ sets out what Derek Thomas will do if elected as the Member of Parliament on May 7th.
At the time of its release Derek said “I have prepared this local manifesto so that people can know what to expect of me as MP working here in West Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The plan sets out what I believe the priorities are and what I will do to address them. This manifesto reflects years of meeting people and listening to their concerns.”
Health and Social Care
The plan highlights the need to bring health and social care together in meaningful integration. It also tackles the problem of our low wage economy and how this can be addressed by creating more skilled jobs particularly in digital technology and engineering.
Derek Thomas continues ” Having a skill and background in the building trade enables me to take a plan drawn on paper through to completion – something you can see and appreciate. I intend to approach the job of MP just the same. For me, it is important to see what has been delivered by the MP – my local manifesto sets out how I intend to deliver on health, jobs, transport and housing.”
