Mat Harvey put us through our paces at St Ives Leisure Centre today on the indoor cycling fund-raiser. We joined people all over the UK who this weekend are raising money and awareness for Brain Tumour Research.
Brain Tumour Research is a charity with a research centre at Derriford Hospital and other research centres around the UK. It costs £1 million each year to fund each research centre and it is money well spent because brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer for people under 40 years old and receives about 1% of the research funding.
I supported the launch of the research centre in Plymouth in 2014 and I will be promoting the annual ‘Wear-A-Hat’ fund-raising day that takes place each March for the charity.
Mat Harvey was a fantastic encouragement as we cycled today. You can still donate using his justgiving page [here].
