A fair price for milk farmers

You will be aware that an initiative to create a new milk brand has been worked out between farming industry representatives and Morrisons.
This agreement will give an extra 10p per litre to farmers. 4 pints currently selling for 89p will cost an extra 23p. This enables shoppers to support dairy producers by choosing the more expensive brand knowing that the extra will go to them.
Arla supply Morrisons. Arla are a cooperative of producers with the majority of members (3000) being UK producers. Products in the Arla group such as Cravendale and Anchor will carry a new mark to let consumers know which products give a better deal to farmers. Now we need other supermarkets to follow suit.
